Back to rehearsals

It has been a good break but we were all glad to be back to rehearsal this week.  The consensus was that the Palace concert had gone really well, despite the challenges of playing in the theatre for the first time and not having the opportunity to rehearse and hear what the acoustics were like.

Colum was kind to us and got us back into it gently playing some of the old music.  We also practiced Flutopia, with Colum announcing that it would feature in the Christmas Concert - with the flutes "instructed" to learn it so that it could be played from memory! 

We ended at the break this week with the second half of the rehearsal helping Bob sort the music that had been handed in.  Lucky he did have help as it took ages to sort it into instrument order!

Finally, welcome to Sarah on alto sax; glad she enjoyed the evening and look forward to seeing her next week.  Also, welcome back to Rebekah on bassoon.   See you all next Tuesday and hopefully also the others who couldn’t make it tonight.
